Dr. Morgan Smith may recommend IV sedation if you have more severe dental anxiety or fear. IV (intravenous) sedation is a conscious sedation treatment, though patients often report feeling as if they were asleep during their treatment. To learn more about IV sedation in Murray, Utah, and to make an appointment with our dentists, contact Smith Family Dental at 801-266-4427.
Before we can provide you with IV sedation, our dentists will need to meet with you in a consultation, during which we will discuss your medial history, dental needs, and other relevant factors. If you receive IV sedation, we will monitor you carefully throughout your treatment to ensure that no complications occur. IV sedation is very safe, and there is almost never any cause for concern.
You will be awake and aware of where you are and what is happening during your treatment, and should be able to follow any instructions our dentists provide.
You will need to have someone available to drive you home following your treatment, and we recommend that you have someone available to stay with you for a few hours after returning home until the anesthesia wears off.
